Spring term is upon us, and the time back so far has been a whirlwind. It is so windy. To “keep cozy and carry coffee,” my current motto in life, I took inspiration from one of spring 2015’s biggest trend: neutrals and white, white, white. The serene shade is seen all over the runways in an array of styles and paired with other neutrals such as nude, gray and black. I looked, in particular, to looks from Christophe Lemaire’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection when putting together my daytime ensemble.
Winter white is such a wonderful thing. I love the boxy quality of this look in Lemaire’s show, and I recreated it with a similarly boxy wool sweater. Instead of opting for all white, I decided to follow another look from the show that pairs black and white while also adapting it for the winter weather. I turned the look upside down, however, by putting white on top and black on the bottom. To blur the lines, I also added an oversized scarf featuring both of the colors.
Whilst these Lemaire looks contain solely neutrals, I wanted to shake things up, so I decided to pair my ensemble with a plum tote for a little pop of color. I also couldn’t leave the house without my rings as well as my Warby Parker prescription specks and sunglasses. With a red lip to boot, I’m ready to take on the term.
Get My Look: 1. A white boxy sweater. 2. An oversized scarf. 3. A colorful carryall.
