I am overly joyed that winter entails an array of outfits that can only be worn in the chilly air. Emphasis on the word “over”. This season, a new trend has been seen on campus that has me and those around me quite interested. The oversized sweater paired with over-the-knee boots has taken on a life of it’s own. This match can almost be considered one made in heaven because it’s simplicity is what makes it so bold.
The pairing of these two items can be either dressed up or dressed down. Even more, this ensemble can be worn to class or a night out. One way that this piece can be dressed down is to have a casual oversized sweater, match it with the over-the-knee boots, and top it off with a beanie. The beanie allows for a more casual look while it also keeps you warm! Side note, if you’re uncomfortable wearing the just the sweater and the boots, you can always add a pair of leggings.
Hit the snooze on the classes (just kidding, go to them) and have a night out while having the comfort of this outfit. A great way to dress up this outfit for a dinner with the girls or even a party is to definitely accessorize. My favorite accessory to dress up an outfit is to add a simple yet bold watch. This year, everyone has been gravitating towards rose gold but any watch will do. If you’re going out during the day, feel free to add a hat and your favorite sunglasses to define the look even more.
Simple pieces can often come together to create a marvelous look. These pieces alone can be used for other looks as well which allow for them to be good pieces to have in general. We’re not ready to be over winter yet, so put on your oversized sweater and pull up your over-the-knee boots and keep warm!
