Unlike many other designers this year, the Theory spring 2016 show included many ready-to-wear pieces, like high-water trousers and culottes. There were suit trousers and suit blazers played down with off-shoulder tops and sandals. Polka dots and stripes added playful touches here and there.
The Theory girl is a clean, classic look. She wears timeless pieces and brings them together in new and innovative ways. She is not afraid to play with basic patterns, color and shape, as seen in the stripes, the red suits and the culotte pants. She is serious and mature but at the same time very casual, as seen in the playful polka dots and sandals. This kind of girl wears clean lines without a lot of jewelry and background noise.
One of my favorite things from the Theory show was how trousers were dressed down in casual outfits. I also really liked the wide, off-shoulder tops from the show. I was so inspired that I created this outfit.
For my Theory spring 2016 inspired outfit, I wanted to translate the runway look to something I could wear to class or out to coffee with friends. I combined a pair of navy blue trousers from H&M with a wide neck, red and white striped shirt from my mother’s closet. I wore my leather kate spade watch to smarten it up a little, and wore my adidas Stan Smiths to make the look a little more crisp and casual.
Get My Look: 1. Tapered trouser pants. 2. Off-the-shoulder top. 3. Crisp white tennis shoes.
