STYLE GURU STYLE: Not Your Mother's Maxi

Mulberry’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is obviously as obsessed with the show Friends as I am. Just the other day I was watching an episode (for like the 100th time), and I saw Monica in an asymmetrically hemmed floral maxi dress. I absolutely loved it! Naturally, when I saw Mulberry’s collection of easy flowing asymmetrical maxi dresses, neutral toned shoes and floral patterns, I knew it was fate! The collection included the perfect mix of muted tones mixed with pops of color for spring!

So today I decided to recreate the ’90s-inspired look myself! I started with my newest favorite purchase from Old Navy, a flowy army green asymmetrical maxi dress. I decided to subtly include the floral pattern found in Mulberry’s collection in my scarf. This is the perfect way to add a little color to your look and remain super comfortable for class! I traded the neutral sandals found in the collection with my favorite neutral booties because it’s still a little too chilly in Mississippi for sandals just yet.

Overall, the maxi dress is my favorite part of the look. It can be kept comfy and cute for class as pictured here or dressed up for a date night. Simply trade the booties for a pair of strappy neutral heels and the scarf for a layered necklace, and the look is instantly transformed from day to night! Either way, you’ll be so incredibly comfortable that you’ll want to transform into a Friends character every single day!
