STYLE GURU STYLE: Off-The-Shoulder

Ever since the spring and summer runway shows, I’ve been so eager to dress up in the new latest and greatest trends of the season. Now that spring has finally sprung the wait is over, and I am so excited to bring out my favorite trend: off-the-shoulder top. This stunning neckline was all over the runway this season, and I can not get enough of it. Off-the-shoulder pieces are the perfect mix between risqué and conservative, revealing just enough skin to turn heads.

Some of my favorite shows that featured this trend included: Peter Pilotto, Michael Kors and Paul & Joe.  For this specific look however, I was inspired by the Chloé spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, which featured a variety of off-the-shoulder pieces. This collection showcased this trend in fun patterns and modest solids. Not only that, it included both dresses and tops with the off-the-shoulder neckline. Inspired by the colorful patterns and flow in the tops from this collection, I chose this blue and white striped H&M blouse. Similar to look 41 in Chloé’s collection, I paired the top with denim skinny ankle jeans. Because its not quite sandal weather yet, I tied this outfit together with taupe booties.

Off-the-shoulder pieces can also be worn on the shoulder for a more conservative look.  Because of their versatility they are a great purchase for not only this season, but also many more spring and summers to come. There is no doubt that I will be purchasing more off-the-shoulder blouses to add to my wardrobe this spring!
