Anna Sui’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection is so intriguing with the way everything flows from the unique prints, flowing tops, short hem lines and the gladiator sandals. All of these elements mix together to create a whimsical, fairy-like look that is both chic and perfect for the summertime. When I came across this fashion show, it instantly inspired me to pursue my very own pair of gladiator sandals, which have been practically a staple for many Fashionistas this season. The other thing that inspired me about this collection was the earth tones that she used in the majority of the looks. My marled, cream colored V-neck followed the trend and complemented by the shades of cream and tan in my sandals. The clothes in this collection also featured a lot of shorts and dresses. I decided to go the shorts route with my favorite high-waisted black shorts.
Every female model in Sui’s show had long waves and a necklace. I also decided to embrace this by wearing my hair naturally curly and adding a silver necklace. I liked the idea of my accessories bringing out the silver in my sandals so I also wore silver earrings and a silver ring; my bracelet and watch were accented with silver as well. As far as make-up goes, this fashion show featured some looks that had pops of color and others that were very neutral. Since it was so hot outside, I took the more natural approach and decided not to wear any makeup at all. However, if you are inspired to try this look and you want to add a little makeup, then I would suggest a nude eye shadow pallet, some mascara and a sheer gloss. A more natural face seems to work really well with the natural look of the wavy hair.
