As graduation approaches, I’m inspired by more mature looks that still maintain quirky details. In particular, I’ve been drawn to patterned blouses in deep, classic colors. They’re easy to mix, match and layer depending on the weather. In particular, I can’t stop wearing this versatile navy and white grid blouse. Lanvin’s pre-fall 2015 collection may have subliminally directed me towards this top with its display of simple white grids painted across timeless cuts. A smart pattern and go-to blouse shape pair well with edgy details, creating a perfect balance for my favorite fall look.
I rolled the sleeves on this blouse to keep things natural and tucked it into my skirt as a structured styling choice. In fact, corduroy and suede skirts just might be this season’s hottest items. Paired with chunky boots, skinny heels or crisp white sneakers, a textured a-line skirt has endless potential. I remember being torn between a red and black version of this skirt, and I’m so glad I chose a classic color. I’ve already paired the skirt with everything from casual T-shirts to dressy blouses and love its funky texture.
As far as shoes go, 2015 has to be the year of strappy heels. I snagged these beauties from Target for under $30 dollars and can’t stop wearing them. When paired with this skirt, they do a great job of lengthening up my legs. While these definitely aren’t typical work shoes, they are great working-in-fashion shoes! Be prepared for your pair to match every outfit imaginable.
For my final touches, I chose a structured leather bag and focused on highlighting its dainty gold details. Layering thin gold necklaces over airy blouses was a huge trend this summer, and I’m all for carrying it into fall! Topping off the look with edgy sunglasses gave the entire outfit a fresh, hip vibe.
