New Year’s Eve: one last blow-out as we kiss the old year goodbye and ring in the new one! A celebration of this caliber most definitely calls for glamour. Don’t get me wrong, I love glitter and sequins and sparkles as much as the next girl—but this year, I’m trying for a more subtle look on the last night of 2016.
This mesh-and-lace bodysuit is subtle, but sexy enough for the occasion, while still being surprisingly warm enough for the late night, Georgia chill. If you live somewhere colder, this look works well topped off with a leather jacket, as well—I recently got one I love from Topshop! This one is from Charlotte Russe, but you can find a similar one here!
Pleather has been one of my favorite looks for several years, because of the slightly bad girl vibe it has. I love this skater skirt because the silhouette adds the perfect amount of cute to keep this look from getting too “biker chic” (although I do love a good biker chic look, don’t get me wrong). I’ve had this skirt for years, but you can get similar ones here!
Black heeled booties have carried over into another season (thankfully!) and there are so many variations! These ones are by Sam Edelman, but similar styles are very popular right now, and I’m just itching to get my hands on a pair of statement booties from Zara. For this look, I decided to forgo a necklace to not distract from the lace detailing on the bodysuit. Instead, I chose these cute earrings given to me by my aunt!
And there you have it! This is my look for a subtle, less-glittery New Years night out. Goodbye 2016, hello 2017, and to all you Fashionistas out there, have fun, stay warm, and be safe!
