Denim, a jacket, a bright lip and a good pair of booties are must-haves in my closet. Combining them bring out an edgy side that I absolutely love. The key to fashion is finding what’s in style and then making it your own.
Taking inspiration from Madewell fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I combined denim with odd pieces that helped achieve the Madewell “natural and off-the-cuff” look. I also took inspiration from DKNY spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection that documented denim overalls paired with a men’s-inspired blazer.
Streetwear pieces can always be dressed up or dressed down. In this outfit, my goal was to create a casual look with a twist. To achieve this look, I wore laid back pieces mixed with high fashion lookalikes.
My outfit includes short overalls from Old Navy with a classic white tank top underneath. I paired an army green jacket to reinvent the looks from the Madewell and DKNY collections and I wore booties with this outfit to create the edgy, dressed up feel. I added a pop of color with a bright lipstick to add that extra touch. Midi rings are always dainty and stylish, but I kept the accessories simple to help draw the attention to the oddity of the jacket.
Denim overalls are to here to stay for the next couple of seasons. To stray away from the trendiness of the overalls, I threw the army green jacket on. These pieces come together creating a casual but modish look that help make the look my own.
Get My Look: 1. Denim overalls. 2. A jacket. 3. Booties.
