Topshop Unique produced an amazing pre-fall 2016 collection; it reminded me of something my grandparents or parents would wear in the ’70s. Everything is beautifully oversized and inspired by menswear. The collection was free-spirited, flowy and retro in the best way. They used different earth tones and blues mixed together. There were animal prints and bird patterns, and there was a great use of fur on the oversized jackets and trench coats.
With an unusually warm winter, being able to wear a cardigan and a short sleeve shirt is a dream—especially after experiencing last year’s non-stop winter. One of my favorite articles of clothing to wear is a cardigan and if the cardigan is oversized, I’m pretty much in heaven. Featured in my pictures, I’m wearing an oversized cardigan, daisy patterned top, jeans and Converse high-tops. It’s slightly retro, as well; I’ve seen my grandfather rock a cardigan like mine in old family photos.
The oversized features in Topshop Unique’s collection inspired me and made me think of my own style and how I incorporate different oversized items into my everyday wardrobe. The mix of different patterns with a blue color also caught my eye because that is something I do a lot. I always drift to the color blue and I try to incorporate patterns to make it more exciting.
The collection features an oversized denim jacket, which made me excited for the next time I go shopping. I would love to own an oversized denim jacket, and am definitely putting it on my shopping list!
