The pajama trend is still going strong Fashionistas! Gaining recent popularity in the spring with slip dresses, the pajama trend is evolving into fall with shirt dresses. Not only are they super comfortable, but they actually create a very put together look considering they are inspired by sleepwear.
I usually tend to rely on Goodwill for my pajama/lingerie-inspired clothing. This dress however is from the WhoWhatWear collection at Target and I’ve been dying to have it since it first made its way onto the sales floor. Of course, I needed to wait until it went on clearance because I’m working with that college student budget, but it finally did and I was able to snag it for $17! This dress was one that I absolutely loved on the hanger, however when I first tried it on (I’m not going to lie), I felt like a mom. The midlength skirt, three-quarter sleeve and the collar all give this garment a more conservative look, especially for a college student. The trick is all behind the styling, and when styled correctly you can create a pajama-chic look.
I paired my WhoWhatWear pajama shirt dress with these amazing tassel earrings that I surprisingly found at Burlington Coat Factory. These are the perfect statement earrings and have become my new obsession. For shoes, I opted for my go-to ankle boots this fall from Old Navy. I prefer a more pointed toe rather than a rounded or almond shape because I believe that it gives a sleeker, more trendy look. Styling with the right pieces and including a statement item is the key to a more innovative look.
