Living in western New York, temperatures can be all over the place. Last week it was in the ’80s, next week it could be in the ’60s. During this completely confusing weather, layering is my best bet. I always hate when the weather is freezing in the morning, but hot in the afternoon. My favorite pieces to layer are jackets and sweaters or flannels. This sweater is super soft but not very thick, so I choose to layer it with my favorite jean jacket.
This jacket I found at Goodwill for $8, and it is probably my favorite thing in my closet. I bought it a size up so that it would be great for layering over sweaters and sweatshirts. The patches are a super fun addition, and I hope to add more to the collection soon. Patches are an inexpensive way to step up your jacket, sweatshirt, or even jeans—I see them everywhere on everything lately. This is one of my favorite trends and makes what you wear seem a little more personal; and who doesn’t love a good DIY project?
Over-the-knee boots are always a recurring fall trend. I recently bought these boots because they have just enough height to make me look taller, but there is no big heel—so they’re easy to walk to class in. They also can be dressed up with a dress or dressed down with a sweater and jeans, which is why they’re so perfect for fall.
Don’t be afraid to try something new; whether it’s knee-high boots or a dark lipstick, fall is all about trying new trends and colors.
