I absolutely love plaid. Being so versatile with lots of different colors and styles, it can be worn with just about anything. It can be casual, dressed up, girly or grungy. You can pair it with so many different accessories.
Inspiration for this look comes from Louis Vuitton’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. A lot of the looks in this show were edgy and grunge, using a lot of leather and metallic pieces. While in this show they were ultimately going for a more cyberpunk look, I was leaning towards a more casual, every day feeling in mine. However, both looks maintain an edgy statement all the same.
One of the main things I like about plaid is that it can be paired with so many different textures and accessories: wool or knit material, hats and scarves, suede high heeled boots. It can also be worn for so many occasions. It’s perfect to wear to class, to go shopping, to a concert and can even be dressed up for a date night. For this look, I decided to go for a cotton and leather texture with silver accessories for a casual going out or going to class look.
When I put together colors, I usually like to pair mainly dark colors together or light colors together. Here I decided to wear my favorite black and red leggings with a blue and black plaid button-up shirt.
I accessorized the look by staying within my edgy theme. Along with the combat boots and a long silver necklace, I added a black faux leather backpack. To finish off the look and add a bit of girly feeling, I topped it off with a black and silver bracelet.
