This winter I’ve spent the coziest times living in turtlenecks and although black will always be one of my favorite colors to wear, currently “I’m in my rose period.” Not only is rose quartz the color of the year, a pink palette brings around very warm and serenity vibes. The color pink has also been more present in the runway shows and even men have pink staple pieces. It’s such a soothing and romantic color to see.
Being that I am already obsessed with the color pink, my heart fell in love with the pink presence in the Carolina Herrera’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. For this outfit inspiration, I used an oversized pink jacket to recreate a fit similar to this look.
My outfit includes a Banana Republic turtleneck tucked into a girlfriend jean from Gap. The statement piece in this look was, of course, the pink cocoon jacket from Zara (one of my favorite go-to stores). As for the shoes, I decided to go for a pair of ankle strap heels, but if you are more on the casual side, you can opt out for a pair of super casual adidas. Whatever floats your boat!
I remember feeling intimidated whenever I wore bright colors out in public or on campus until I realized that I was missing out on embracing who I am and my style. So like the iconic Lilly Pulitzer once said, “Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink.”
Get My Look: 1. Pink jacket. 2. Any black turtleneck. 3. Girlfriend/boyfriend jeans. 4. Ankle strap heels.
