One of the best things about fall/winter is incorporating stylish coats into your outfits. In some cases, coats may become the focal point of your outfit. As plaid is trendy for fall/winter, it may be time to invest in a plaid coat. Plaid coats are popular on the runway in fall as well as on popular TV shows.
One of my favorite fall 2015 collections was Fay’s ready-to-wear collection. Taking the concept of plaid chic from the show, I made my black-and-white plaid coat the main focus of my outfit. The plaid used in the show included a lot of blue, pink and deep green.
Since my personal style is more classic and dichromatic, I chose to wear black-and-white plaid. It gave me the opportunity to play up my makeup and go for a brighter lip color. The makeup on the models were very natural, but I opted for a more dramatic lip color to draw attention to my face and to match my bag.
I kept the rest of my outfit simple, as to not draw attention from the plaid coat, lips and bag. I wore black velvet leggings to dress up my black UGGs. The plain cream scarf I wore is also perfect to throw on in the cold with other busier textures and patterns.
