I was inspired to create this look by the amazing Alexander Wang. In his fall 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show, bold plaid was one of the things that really stood out to me. In the collection that he created, he used all-black and layered a bold red plaid jacket over the shoulders of the models. I seriously think that adding a pop of color is truly the way to bring an outfit together.
Rocking a circle skirt toward the end of summer is a great way to stay cool and look super cute at the same time. I love using bright colors in all of my looks. This has become quite the trend for many stores this fall. I find that when you are shopping for a skater skirt or a circle skirt, you should make sure that the skirt is the same length all the way around. I find that sometimes my skirt will come up in the back, making it appear shorter than it is. In order to fix that, just tuck your shirt in.
I wore an adorable cobalt blue circle skirt with a plaid shirt, both of which are from American Eagle Outfitters. Paired with the clothing was my Coach purse, class ring and charm bracelet from JCPenney. Pairing neutral accessories with a bold outfit can make your look more professional and classy.
You could easily take this look from day to night by adding a bold heel and adding a colorful statement necklace. Adding a smokey eye and a bold lip can make it more fun and flirty.
