STYLE GURU STYLE: Plain Jane

While perusing the fall 2015 ready-to-wear collections, there was one in particular that stopped me dead in my tracks. The collection that tempted me to go out and spend all my savings is one of the most recent from the label 6397. 6397 is the brainchild of designer Stella Ishii and her business partner Lasse Karlson. Stella Ishii also happens to own The News, which is a well-known showroom in New York City that offers tons of support to up-and-coming designers. The label was founded in 2012 and originally designed only denim, but it has quickly expanded into ready-to-wear. As of 2014, 6397 had already reached sales revenues of three million dollars.

Keeping in-line with the brand’s aesthetic the fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection features slouchy denim, printed T-shirts paired with dress pants, baggy dresses and neutral colors galore. This no-frills label screams tomboy while still managing to appeal to the ultra-chic woman in all of us. I love this collection because it’s so simple, but still very stylish. The pieces in the collection are not super trendy, colorful or over-the-top, which means that they can be worn for more than just one season.

My own interpretation of 6397’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection included a lightweight T-shirt from Target, a pair of pinstripe pants and my pair of gray Vans. In order to keep the look super simple, I opted out of any jewelry or other accessories. I felt so comfortable walking around campus in this ensemble and super stylish. I may end up purchasing a few items from this collection after all.

Get My Look: 1. Basic T-shirt. 2. Dress Pants. 3. Sneakers.
