One of my favorite runway trends that I don’t see too often is the sporty-chic look. Every day I’m feeling a different style so I can go from super sporty in all gym clothes to a total girly girl in skirts and sparkles. One runway show that I love, mixing sporty and girly into one, is Tommy Hilfiger’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection. I’m a big fan of Tommy Hilfiger and this line is a little different than his usual designs. The simplicity of the pieces, paired with the bright colors really catches attention. Many of the designs consist of skirts or dresses which makes them more ladylike. In this collection you find your everyday sporty garments such as polos, swimsuits, joggers and jackets but with a little extra! By adding accents like floral patterns, cutouts and accessories, Hilfiger creates a trendy twist on a casual look.
Lately, I have been all for wearing my favorite adidas sneakers with jeans or leggings, but dressing up my upper half. I like to keep my outfits simple and casual but add girly accessories to dress it up a bit. In this look, I’m wearing a simple striped shirt with high-waisted denim shorts, a baseball hat from my favorite city, of course and a casual pair of boat shoes. To add a feminine touch to a sporty look, I added all types of pearl jewelry, a necklace, bracelets, a ring and my precious Chanel earrings.
You might not think to mix such contrasting styles into one outfit but never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!
