What if you woke up ready to come out of your comfort zone and take a fashion risk? I know that does not happen everyday. However, the day I felt like this, I decided that my inspiration would be Au Jour Le Jour fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection. It blew my mind and encouraged me to not take fashion so seriously. The collection has a lot of python print, fur and crazy prints. Because I didn’t want to be a fashion mess, I went for floral on floral action and some patches for my first try-out!
My outfit cannot be compared to the explosion of pigment that comes out of those fabrics. However, I did put together some pieces that I would never had combined. It is crazy how the eyes work. If I put the pieces separately on my bed, I would never had thought of putting them together. But now that I put on layer over layer, I found it beautifully pleasant. I combined this sweater with my bomber jacket because the pink and greens of both pieces made it work. They were intertwined by the green on both garments. When you try to layer up pieces with different prints, don’t waste too much time thinking about the actual prints, but go for the color that they share or even better color-blocking!
I went a little bit further by putting on my patched pair of jeans. I felt it was a little bit edgier. I tried to find a pair of pants with a cool print on my wardrobe. However, the only thing I had were plaid printed pants. I thought it was too much. So I chose denim to tone it down. Also, I put on a coat that has a bomber jacket feel to wrap it all up. I know that the olive green of the jacket is not the prettiest color of the palette, but to me it is a color that can be paired with anything. Even crazy printed layers!
