The days are getting shorter, the leaves are turning and there’s a general crispness to the air. Add in football season, Halloween and hot apple cider—what’s not to love? Fall is by far my favorite time of year, and I have the Starbucks receipts to prove it! Best of all though, is that fall is filled with pumpkin everything. This season, it’s not just the fields or the lattes filled with pumpkin spice; fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear was filled with all shades of pumpkin, Naeem Khan in particular.
When fall fashion is typically known for muted tones of olive or maroon, Naeem Khan stood out for the bright colors on his show-stopping pieces. Detailed embroidery and beadwork adorned many of his designs and the entire collection had an air of old Hollywood glamour. Orange made an appearance in all forms; from ombre evening gowns to high-neck florals, even a few covered in feather fringe!
In keeping with the bold colors and rich textures of the show, I chose to pair a bright orange top with white moto leggings on my annual pilgrimage to the local pumpkin patch. I love roll-able sleeves for this time of year since they can be worn up or down depending on the weather. Next, these Steve Madden booties with gold accents were the perfect tie-in to the gold zippers on my shirt and complementary gold jewelry. As a finishing touch, I was able to pick out just the right pumpkin. Now all that’s left is to start carving!
