The denim skirt is coming back, people! I was never a fan of the denim skirt, especially in high school. I actually hated them with a passion. I did not understand how people thought they were cute whatsoever until now. I came across this button-front A-line skirt and fell in love.
The Stella McCartney spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection inspired me to create this very ’90s ensemble. Although this specific runway show is from the year 2010, denim skirts have been appearing in several runway shows this current year. Some of these runway shows consist of Madewell and Frame Denim fall 2015 ready-to-wear. In Stella McCartney’s runway show the denim skirts were paired with white tops and wedged sandals. This collection also featured primary and neutral colors.
Once I laid my eyes on this button-front skirt I instantly imagined an outfit. I honestly couldn’t believe I was spending my own money on something I once said I would never be caught wearing. However, the minimalistic ’90s vibe of McCartney’s 2010 spring collection inspired me to create this look. I too added a white top to balance the denim of the skirt. To enhance this look of mine I included a mini burnt orange fringe bucket purse as well as leopard Birkenstock look-a-like sandals.
Someone once told me that fashion is a repetition of ideas, but what makes it new is the way you style it and put it together. So my advice for all you Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there is to be adventurous with your style and try something new, you never know what you could create.
Get My Look: 1. White short sleeved top. 2. Button-front skirt. 3. Leopard sandals. 4. Fringe bucket purse.
