As I approach the end of my senior year, fall is right around the corner, and I couldn’t be anymore happy about bringing out the layers for my favorite time of the year. With the change of colors in the leaves and the slight breeze, layering is the best way to add a bit of dimension into your outfits as well as give you the opportunity to recycle outfits from the spring and bring it back to life with a little twist. All you want to do is look good and feel good so what better time to get creative with new outfits, am I right? Layers, my friends, will turn an outfit from old to new in seconds and put right you back on the grid for trending fashion.
As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy keeping most of my outfits to a urban feel. This outfit I pieced together gives a little taste of “street cred,” and I love the fact that it’s getting put back on the grid in the fashion world. I threw on a white long T-shirt with split sides to add dimension and then layered it with a navy, grid print button-up from Boohoo to give it more of a chic touch. Since it isn’t too cold just yet, the lightweight button-up was perfect to throw over this long T-shirt. Don’t be too shy to layer even more once the weather gets even chillier. I know I would’ve added my favorite parka or trench coat to set off my fall look. Of course, I like to add texture, so I put on a pair of my favorite distressed jeans from American Eagle and slipped on some Steve Madden combat boots to keep it a little edgy.
When it comes to accessories, you can never go wrong with an all-black watch from The Fifth Watch to add a bit of a classy feel. I added on my two favorite rings, an elephant head from Fuego and the Ohm symbol ring from Indigo Lune, just to have a little bling. To top the look off, not only did I throw on my version of the top knot but also added a faux nose ring. Also, I can’t forget to mention that I went with a natural smokey eyeshadow, winged liner and fluttery lashes. You can’t forget to accessorize your eyes too, you know? Did I pass with an A in this urban-chic look? I appreciate all of you for checking out my look, and I hope to see your own version of it. Happy layering everyone—light or heavy, you can never go wrong!
