With spring slowly approaching here in Pennsylvania, we’re experiencing a confusing mix between sunshine and rain. One day it’s beautiful, with birds chirping, and the next day it’s all fog and rain. This seasonal transition can make planning outfits a little bit difficult.
In Elie Saab’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, the model’s rocked a mixture of black, floral, long and lacey pieces. What stood out to me was the cropped jackets and neck accessories. This inspired me to play around with lighter jackets and layering.
On this rainy day, I opted for a monochrome color pallet. Black is always my color of choice, so rainy days in the spring are the perfect opportunity to flaunt the angsty color. This outfit sports three very prominent trends in my life right now. I’ve been loving flare jeans, bomber jackets and bandanas. All three items are perfect for transitioning into spring. I would consider my bomber jacket a necessity in my wardrobe right now. It provides me with the perfect amount of warmth, while still looking stylish. Flare jeans can be a bit trickier; I was hesitant to invest in a pair with the fear that they would not flatter my legs. I choose to buy a black pair with the hopes they would give a more sliming illusion.
If you’re an Instagram junkie like me, it’s hard to miss the bandana trend. It seems like all my favorite fashion bloggers have brought back the childhood token. It undeniably gives any outfit a stylish edge. Continuing to play with accessories, I added a pop of color on my hands. My guilty pleasure is fun costume jewelry so I’m always piling on the rings and bracelets. In my opinion, it’s the icing on the cake.
This confusing weather can be both a blessing and a curse. On the positive side, it allows you play around with different trends and soak up the last of your layering before it gets too hot.
