I believe that life is too short to not wear the clothes that make you happy. For a long time, I’d let outfits gather dust in my closet waiting for the “perfect occasion” to see the light of day. When I realized how fragile and precious life is, I decided that I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed. I always want to dress like it’s the best day of my life, because life is too short to wear boring clothes.
As a student, I gravitate towards comfortable clothing pieces that take very little effort, yet look put together—which is why half of my closet consists of dresses. The best part about dresses is that you don’t have to think about matching a shirt and a pair of pants together (because let’s face it, I’ll skip wearing pants any chance I get). Ironically, I am wearing pants in the outfit featured in this post, but that’s because these Rag & Bone black pants are as comfortable as leggings.
It’s winter here in New Jersey and I couldn’t really wear dresses as frequently as I would in any other season. So, my next best go-to outfit is a soft, breathable statement sweater with standout detailing. This flowy cut out shoulder ruby red sweater with lace detailing epitomizes my girly style. When I bought it, I originally thought it was a dress (again with my dress obsession—it’s pretty unhealthy), but I was pleased with this as a shirt nonetheless because it’s super flattering yet playful and romantic.
Every girl boss needs the right shoes to build her empire. To finish off this look, these black heeled over-the-knee boots make this look ever so fancy and sleek. Little would anybody know how comfortable and warm these shoes are. Don’t let anyone know and slay on.
Everyone should wear what makes them happy and confident, and for me this outfit makes me feel effortlessly ready to conquer the busy college life and the world. Here’s your reminder to wear what makes you feel unstoppable and what will able you to deal with whatever life throws at you. Dress for conquest, Fashionistas/os!
