As Fashionistas/os, we always hope to look put together as we spend time gazing at the clothes in our closets and thinking, “I don’t know what to wear.” But designer brands, such as Protagonist, have made our “getting ready” plight much easier by establishing the coordinated set (a.k.a. co-ord set) as a closet essential.
Models graced the runway in sleek, modern and mostly monochromatic attire during the Protagonist resort 2017 runway show. Each outfit from the collection screamed sophisticated simplicity; however, the co-ord sets caught my attention the most. After purchasing an outfit from White House | Black Market, I discovered that my look resembled one of the beautiful striped sets from the Protagonist collection. With their tailored fits and classic color schemes, both looks are chic, comfortable and perfect for summer! To accessorize, I added a choker, black cat-eye sunglasses, a black watch and block heels.
Other than their ability to make it easier to select an outfit in the morning, I believe the reason I love co-ord sets so much is because of their versatility. Think three outfits in one. I was inspired by designer brands, such as Protagonist, to wear my top with the matching shorts. However, to achieve an equally stylish and easy outfit, I could have paired the top with black bottoms or the shorts with a black top. In order to make the separates even more functional (and a little more fun), pair either the top or the shorts with a pop of color! A lot to take in? I know! But that’s the beauty of the co-ord set. There are so many options that allow you to translate simple, matching pieces into a look unique to your personal style.
Even if you are a pro at selecting the perfect outfit with ease, adding a few co-ord sets to your wardrobe will make your “getting ready” routine much more swift and your outfit of the day totally Instagram worthy!
