A collection featuring elegant coats in black and blush, cozy textured sweaters, a soft cornflower-blue double-breasted jacket, slip dresses galore and jeans inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy? Sounds too good to be true! The husband-and-wife duo, Laura Vassar and Kris Brock took ‘90s minimalist to another level in their first ever resort collection. A sophisticated utilitarian vibe and the use of unexpected fabrics makes this collection stand out in a unique way while still looking like ready-to-wear. For a first resort collection, I could not be more impressed!
I channeled my inner Gwyneth Paltrow circa Great Expectations for this minimalistic look. This collection has some knitted pieces so I chose to wear a cream colored, knit tank. The sweaters in the Brock resort 2016 collection have a cropped front and a longer back, much like my tank top. I also felt that the high neckline of my top had a ‘90s look to it, as well. The pale pink color is seen throughout the collection, which is why I picked to wear a pale pink and white striped skinny-jean to balance out the oversized fit of my sweater tank top. The color blue appears in the medium wash jeans and in a few other pieces in this collection so I decided to add a pop of blue to my nails to represent that part of the collection. Last, but not least, I brought the look back to the 21st Century with a pair of nude, jeweled sandals.
Get My Look: 1. A pale pink pair of pants. 2.A neutral colored sweater tank. 3. A nude sandal.
