It finally feels like Wisconsin winter is here. The last few days have called for layers, layers and more layers. I already dream of spring and warmer days where I don’t need to wear a sleeping bag (parka) over my outfit to survive. Despite freezing temperatures, I’ve been working hard to stay warm and stylish.
Lately I’ve been inspired by all the spring 2016 ready-to-wear collections, particularly the Alexander McQueen show. It was dazzling; feminine silhouettes, ruffles, florals and stunning baby pinks, creams, whites and blacks. What caught my attention the most however, were looks 28 and 29 rocking rolled cuff denim. The best kind of denim might I add. It was slouchy, destroyed and cuffed. Boyfriend jeans, destroyed denim and patchwork denim have debuted not only in the McQueen show, but in plenty of other runway shows in the last year. It’s a trend that keeps on trending!
I decided to jump on this trend! This month I’m doing a Winter Wardrobe Challenge and day eight I had to wear a rolled denim, socks and boots combo! I thought this was the perfect opportunity to take some inspiration from McQueen’s killer denim looks. I paired my rolled boyfriend jeans, metallic black socks and velvet chelsea boots with a long suede button-down and long gray cardigan for a hint of mod and vintage vibe. For accessories, I went silver. A silver chain necklace, checkered fair trade scarf, silver heart-shaped sunglasses and a tote are the finishing touches to my look!
Get My Look: 1. Boyfriend jeans. 2. Suede top. 3. Long cardigan.
