Summer is finally here, and with it, all the trends we’ve been dying to try out. To me, there is nothing better than wearing white in the summer. It’s fresh, it’s clean and it complements everyone. Now, pair that with dazzling gold accessories and you have the Balenciaga spring 2016 ready-to-wear show. This show was Alexander Wang’s last with the couture brand, and it undoubtedly left the fashion world wanting more. I loved the effortlessly fresh looks displayed in this show. It was all about summer whites and showing a little skin. The gold accessories highlighted each look without taking over. This show is perfect inspiration for anyone stuck in a summertime style rut.
To mirror the looks from the Balenciaga show, I decided to pair an off-the-shoulder white top with light wash Levi’s cut-offs. However, if you’re more interested in an all-white look, these shorts can easily be replaced by white denim cut-offs. I chose this top as it replicates the flowy, carefree vibe of the show, while the off-the-shoulder aspect caters to everyone’s summertime need to show off their sun-kissed skin. Since the top draws attention to the neck and chest, necklaces are a must! I layered three delicate gold necklaces and on my wrist, I have a two-tone Michael Kors watch. Keeping the accessories subtle and simple allows for that effortless look created in the Balenciaga show. To finish the ensemble, I’m wearing gold studded, leather Valentino sandals, but any leather sandals would do, as they tie it all together to create a lovely, romantic summer look!
