Summer is in full swing and you know what the means— sunshine, cold treats, eating meals outside and shopping of course! It’s time to pull out your summer clothes and go shopping for those new pieces you’ve been dying over. The weather has been perfect lately, which has inspired me to liven up my day-to-day outfits. Recently, I’ve been throwing on either a dress or a romper almost every day!
For today’s look, I have on what could be a basic outfit but added pops of color and some edgy accessories that make my outfit stand out in a crowd. I took my favorite black romper with grid detailing on the back and added my all time favorite black wedges (bonus points for being comfortable) and grabbed a teal Rebecca Minkoff cross-body bag. To tie the look together I added my spiked gold necklace, square diamond earrings, a monogrammed bracelet and pair of classic Ray-Ban aviators.
I took inspiration for today’s look from my favorite runway trends this season. The look that I love the most is mixing classics with a little edge—a timeless combination. A show that pulled off this trend effortlessly was from the Christian Dior 2017 resort collection. I fell in love with the way the designer paired neutral colors with a pop of something bright often even adding a busy pattern. The pieces were all perfectly tailored and draped the models’ bodies beautifully. The designer also played with different fabrics and textures. The hemlines were a mix of very short and floor-length. The designer mixed up the looks by adding both dramatic eye makeup and jewelry. I hope you love this fun look as much as I do!
I love taking inspiration from high-end designers and creating an outfit that is personal to me and fits my lifestyle. Inspiration can be taken from anywhere; it doesn’t have to come solely from designers or runway shows. I love looking at someone’s outfit and seeing their true style expressed in it.
