For the last few years, I developed some special love for the oversized clothing. However, I personally prefer when a Fashionista keeps the border between looking stylish and looking like she borrowed her boyfriend’s outfit. Anterprima fall and winter 2014-2015 collection is a great example of wearing oversized pieces and still looking feminine.
One of the most important things I noticed while watching the models’ looks from the runway was the fact that most oversized pieces were matched with the bottoms which highlighted the waistline. That made the silhouette look more polished than if the whole look was only about the prodigious clothes.
Since I wanted to wear an oversized top, but still create a ladylike outfit I decided to match a turtleneck sweater with a high-waisted denim skirt. Moreover, I had been seeing the button-down denim skirts all over the Internet recently and it was the first thing I saw, while I did shopping a couple of weeks ago. I quickly bought it, because I found it to be a practical tool to have in everyone’s closet. This skirt can be worn both in summer and in winter. In my particular outfit, I wore a ribbed tank top underneath the sweater, which on its own can be one of the possible style ideas for the warmer part of the year.
The gray sweater I got was love from first sight. First, I do have a thing for this color. Second, doesn’t it look like the Anterprima ones but costs 5,000 times cheaper, because I bought it in Urban Outfitters? Finally, it is warm. That is probably what I should have started with since most Bostonians trade being fashionable for being warm in the middle of winter.
