Usually my spring wardrobe consists of bright prints, lace textures and pastel colors. This season I wanted to switch it up and play with more neutrals and earthy looks. Ralph Lauren’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection fulfilled my newfound desire for earth-toned looks this season. Although the collection included a mixture of different pieces including solid-colored ensembles with subtle pops of sparkle and bright color, I loved the all-green looks. To me, this collection exuded a sophisticated safari vibe with hints of sparkle and shine.
I took inspiration from this runway look at the show and added a touch of bohemian goddess to make it my own. To be honest I’m loving dresses lately because they let me take the easy way out—I never have as much laundry to wash. Also, I haven’t quite adjusted to the warmer weather, which means forgetting to shave my legs, so maxi dresses have been such a lifesaver. They also really elongate my body and make me seem more streamlined. To replicate the sparkle in Ralph Lauren’s collection, I added a statement necklace for a touch of glam. I took the structured safari-themed collection and translated it into my own style with flowing fabrics and bohemian accessories. Although it’s hard sometimes to transition into different season and try new trends, I’m always trying to spice things up and experiment with my personal style. You know what they say, “You only live once.”
