Ever since I was little, Tartan Plaid was my favorite winter pattern. While others were excited for Christmas trees, holiday cookies and playing in the snow, the first glimpse of the coveted textile really got me into the holiday spirit. Because Tartan is not the most acceptable pattern year round, I like to get my wear out of it in the winter months.
The Tommy Hilfiger fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway show showcased polished plaid outfits that gave me inspiration for my Christmas Day outfit. I was able to pull pieces from my closet that gave me the same “Blair Waldorf,” grown up school girl look.  Hilfiger’s entire collection was youthful, yet classic which I feel embodies my style perfectly. The red plaid in his look was what stood out to me the most on the runway and is what served as my style inspiration.
Because this look was constructed out of all classic staple pieces, it was simple to pull together. Achieving this look was rather easy using my skirt as the center piece for this outfit; I found pieces to pair with it that still had interest but wouldn’t take away from the impact of the plaid. Just like the runway show, my look is chic, but very easy and ready-to-wear.
My Christmas outfit included a tie blouse from Primark tucked into a J.Crew Pencil Skirt. The look then called for my brand new Lauren Ralph Lauren tote, Michael Kors watch and J.Crew metallic flats. All of these items came together to create a chic, preppy holiday that kept me in the spirit all day!
Get My Look: 1. Neck tie blouse. 2. Tartan plaid skirt.  3. Metallic flats.
