STYLE GURU STYLE: Season Transition

Just when I thought winter weather was almost over, the East Coast encountered around 12 inches of snow. I won’t lie, few things are more exciting than receiving an email that says “classes canceled due to snow storm.” However, this island girl misses the spring/summer climate with all her heart. While waiting for warm weather to check in, let’s embrace this amazingly unpredictable winter making every outfit #RAD.

Grab your parkas, puffer jackets, furs and snow proof boots! This might be (fingers crossed) their last weeks out before going back to the storage until further notice. Currently, we are going through transitional time between winter season and spring season, which basically means: go ahead and start injecting some color into your outfits! Dare to come out the black/gray/white comfort zone. Fashion bloggers such as Danielle from We Wore What, Olivia Culpo and Camila Coelho, as well as high end models Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin among many others, have been spotted in the streets of NYC during Fashion Week 2017 using bright colors that go from yellow, green and blue to red, pink and orange all over their gear. Spring colors are in full swing and, since the time to cradle them approximates, why not start now?

I understand that adding color to our apparel might not be an effortless task, but let’s start thinking about it as a move to brighten our lives. For me, involving color is done step-by-step, and when I say this I mean baby steps. Piece-by-piece tends to be easier than wearing a colorful outfit from head to toe. This “can it be spring time already?” look is the perfect representation of the previously said. In this case, it was almost all-black-everything with a touch of pink. This v-neck pink shirt-dress gives you a very feminine look. It suits all body shapes and is extremely soft and comfortable for late winter days. To give it a more edgy look, I added a black faux-fur jacket from H&M. Tip: wearing jackets like this one over the shoulders without using the sleeves will enhance the look with ultimate sophistication. Thick, black tights and Steve Madden black booties give the dress the chance of standing out. To this point, the outfit is already attention-calling. For this reason, and because a lady should never goes out without a purse, adding a simple, black cross-body bag from Guess is terrific. Hair up, black Ray-Ban aviators and matte plum lipstick to finish the look, and you are ready to wait for warm weather with me!
