With Fashion Month currently occurring (try to say that five times fast), it’s quite hard not to pay attention to all the trends that are being introduced on the runways right now. As I try to enhance the last of my winter wardrobe, designers are looking ahead to fall. That doesn’t mean these two separate seasons can’t coexist. Hermès‘ ready-to-wear runway show is an example of transitioning fall trends into the current winter. Models were covered in fur and furlike pieces, so I decided to incorporate this into my wardrobe as well. Looking like a sheep, or any animal may not be appealing however, I think it’s a unique and fun look that should be embraced.
I jumped into this trend head first and don’t regret it at all. I chose to incorporate this trend into my look by wearing a sheep-like fur sweater and matched it with black everything. Black scarf, black floppy hat, black sweater and black leather boots. As I have previously mentioned in other posts, I am now more than ever drawn to the color black. It instantly makes a look sophisticated and chic. However this does not mean in any way that I am opposed to color. Today, I opted for texture over color though.
By wearing such a unique and significant piece, like my fur sweater, you’re automatically making a statement. Enhance this theme by adding stylish accessories as well. If you’re a bit nervous about wearing such a look around campus, that means you’re trying something new and you should go for it. If it doesn’t end well, mark it down in the books and try another look tomorrow. Style is a fun adventure that’s always evolving and you’re going to make mistakes, that’s what makes it so exhilarating! Today I tried fur, tomorrow I might try cheetah print accessories, who knows?
