Summer is almost here, which means one thing: fun maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are a staple in my closet during the summer because they could be dressy or super casual, and on top of that, they’re the most comfortable to wear.
When I first saw Alexander McQueen’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, the dresses stood out to me in particular. Most of the them were very formal and had a lot of beading, but there was one dress that really caught my eye. It was a light gray formal dress that had a lot of beading at the top, trickling down less and less. It also became sheer from the middle down, adding an edgy element to it.
Following this look, I had found a beige, summer maxi dress from Francesca’s and opted to transform this runway look into a more casual backyard barbeque look. What I love about this dress is the pattern that the bottom of the skirt has because it’s so delicate. Rather than the typical bold flowers that we usually see, the floral pattern gives it a more delicate summer look. I paired the dress with a pair of Marc Fisher wedge sandals to give me some height. I could appreciate the bottom and wedges are the other go-to summer shoe besides flip flops.
To keep the summer look simple, I minimized the amount of jewelry I wore by sticking to only Alex and Ani bracelets, a watch and a small, delicate necklace.
Get My Look: 1. Any sheer maxi-dress. 2. Wedges. 3. Alex and Ani bangles.
