Black and white is a classic color combo, and it is wearable during all four seasons. It’s easy to pull together and hard to mess up, which makes it a quick and go-to staple outfit when I’m trying to get dressed in a pinch.
As I perused designers on Vogue.com, I noticed a major trend among the resort collections was completely black and white runways. Taking inspiration from Courrèges’ resort 2017 collection, I combined the edgy black and white vibe with my own personal style to create this minimally-hued look. The collection featured sharp lines, boxy silhouettes and modern details, which created a bold yet minimalist feel.
Black has always been my favorite color to wear, and stripes are my favorite pattern to rock, so of course I took this opportunity to combine them. I paired a striped off-the-shoulder crop from Vestique with a black asymmetrical skort to mirror those sharp and defined lines that were included on the Courrèges runway. I added a black and gold choker combo and mirrored aviators to add to the edginess of the outfit, along with a black wide-brimmed hat. I added these perfect neutral block heels to finish off the look that will match any and every outfit you could imagine.
Summer is usually filled with bright dresses and neon accessories, but sometimes it’s fun to keep it simple and stick to the classic black and white color palette. It’s always in style, and you’ll always be able to pair pieces already in your closet. All you have to do to finish your look is add some trendy jewels, and you’re ready to go!
