When I saw Ulyana Sergeenko’s fall 2015 couture collection and how a dramatic blazer was used for couture, the rest of the collection instantly inspired me. Couture can be surprising and outright outrageous. However, I found this collection to be quite approachable, and I knew exactly how to work those trends into my daily outfits.
I translated this runway style into my own look by incorporating a slate gray blazer over a white one piece. Instead of pairing the blazer with a cutout maxi dress, like in look 16, I opted for a lace romper. The romper takes note from look 14 of the collection because of its intricate detailing and halter neckline. These two looks are definitely my two favorites of the collection, as they manage to have a great sense of elegance while maintaining a level of casualty.
I’ve always had the misconception that blazers should be saved for interviews and the workplace, but I recently had a change of heart after seeing this slightly oversized gray blazer. It adds that extra class to any outfit, and it has definitely been my go-to piece recently. I pair the blazer with anything, whether it’s this light romper and black boots or a striped T-shirt and boyfriend jeans.
Although the outfit took inspiration from a runway trend, I incorporated my own personal style by wearing black booties to counteract the outfit’s daintiness and added an unexpected twist with my favorite matte red lip.
Get My Look: 1. Oversized gray blazer. 2. White romper. 3. Heeled black booties.
