I’m slaying in the rain, just slaying in the rain.
While some of you might still be enjoying the last few rays of summer sunshine this September, fall is starting to settle here in Limerick and to be honest, I’m not too happy about it. You see, fall here isn’t synonymous with crunchy golden leaves and pumpkin spiced lattes. An Irish autumn is the awkward transition between “Eh, at least the rain isn’t cold,” to “Drivers are advised to be cautious as they travel on icy roads.” Okay, so I might be exaggerating a bit but it’s not far from the truth. Summer has been pleasant despite the odd ’bout of rain here and there. I got to rock my cut-off shorts and mini dresses for a while, but now it’s time to put those away and bring out something a little cosier and more resistant to the weather.
Getting dressed every morning has gotten so stressful! Chilly mornings, sunny spells, scattered showers turning into a full on storm and concluding with a warm pink sunset. My goodness! What’s a girl to do? How do I get dressed for potentially four seasons with one outfit?
Well, one can never go wrong with transitional pieces. In my case, it’s this medium-weight rain jacket that I recently purchased from Zara. It’s perfect for everyday wear and I like that it’s not overly glossy so it’s pretty versatile when it comes to pairing it with the rest of my wardrobe.
Today I’m dressed in my floral, button-up A-line skirt and striped t-shirt with a lace-up neckline. I finished off my outfit with some sheer tights for warmth, ankle wellies to walk through puddles and my gold hoop earrings because gaudy hoop earrings are kinda my thing now. Also, stripes and florals always look good together so please spread the word.
So that will be all from me today. This was such a fun outfit to shoot! I hope you guys love it as much as I do and on that note, feel free to give this outfit a #RAD.
