I would consider myself to have more of an eclectic look, one that changes from one day to the next. I love being athletic and fit but I also love all things fashion and chic. rag & bone’s pre-fall 2015 show encompasses my look perfectly, while also using my favorite go-to color combinations.
One of my recent favorite things to do is mix patterns and play around with color schemes. I have recently landed on the royal blue, black, gray and maroon combination because the cold crisp blues often tie in well with the soft rich maroon color to balance out the look. I like to go with subtle patterns such as the small print on the maroon H&M pant and the slight color blocking of the J.Crew sweater.
Comfort is also a must in my wardrobe. Walking around campus to classes all day requires that I feel comfortable in what I am wearing. Typically this means I choose a slouchier silhouette which makes Marcus Wainwright’s “old Englishman pajama” look very fitting for me. The slouchy pajama style maroon printed pant and the short sleeve color-block sweater create comfort in the look while the colored button-down denim and leather lapel blazer create the classic yet chic touches that dress up the outfit.
By adding a blazer on top for extra warmth and a sleek finish, the ensemble is pulled together quite nicely. All the different textures and patterns create a great layered look for the cold, yet are still harmonious to the eye with the color scheme and balance throughout.
