The midi skirt is the perfect wardrobe addition that has been featured heavily on the runway for a couple of seasons now. Everyone from Gucci to Burberry to Oscar de la Renta featured the trend heavily in their spring 2016 ready-to-wear collections. I was particularly inspired by the alice + olivia spring 2016 ready-to-wear presentation. Their fourth runway look featured a crop top/midi skirt combo. The skirt itself was detailed with intricate embroidery. The look was styled with knee-high, nude, lace-up shoes and a tote bag. I love the colors featured in this look and how the styling of the midi skirt ties the whole outfit together. The orange, white and neutral tones in this look make for the perfect spring or summer outfit! I also admire the beauty trends featured in this look. The low bun with a middle part has become a very popular hairstyle and a new go-to look of mine. It is a simple a chic way to make any outfit a bit more sophisticated.
This midi skirt that I am wearing has become one of my favorite pieces this summer. I have worn it numerous times to work, but you can style it different to wear it to brunch or even a summer wedding! I love pairing the detailed midi skirt with a white T-shirt, dressing it down a little, but adding some interest with the necklace. For work, I often switch out the shoes for flats, and I am out the door!
