In the resort 2016 Burberry Prorsum collection, there are a lot of mixed neutrals. A common combination here is black and nude. The trendy combination of neutrals is accentuated with the occasional bold pattern or bright color. My personal favorite in this situation has to be the sharp geometric prints. This whole collection screams mixed signals in the best ways by using sugar sweet girly elements and colors to counteract darker, bolder pieces. This particular collection achieves the unique feel with a lot of lace dresses thrown in balance with black mesh and leather. It’s like Kate Middleton and Taylor Momsen had a style baby.
My personal style is a more muted version of this. I turned this runway style into a wearable outfit by simply following the overarching theme, keeping that Kate and Taylor style hybrid in mind. I started by mentally allowing myself to break some basic fashion rules like mixing denim washes. I figured dark wash jeans and an ultra light chambray shirt would reflect the eclectic collection wonderfully. My geometric muscle shirt and black leather hair bow served as awesome contrasts. To top it off, I chose a pair of nude booties as an unexpected statement for the whole ensemble.
This new mismatched style anthem is really the perfect way to show every facet of your personality. Turns out throwing caution to the wind can be kind of fun, who knew? So don’t be afraid of showing all of who you are in every outfit you wear.
