I will always be a huge fan of black and white. No matter what the season, black and white are staple colors that prove time and time again why they are so popular. Maybe it’s because the two together will guarantee you a classic chic look, or maybe it’s because you can add a slight pop of color to the black and white duo with your lipstick or shoes. If you still need more convincing on the power and simplicity of black and white, just look at Hellessy’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection for inspiration and guidance. That’s what I did this week.
Not that I needed any more convincing (I’m an avid black and white wearer), Hellessy’s use of the colors inspired me to rock a mini dress with the upmost confidence this week. When people typically think about spring and summer, their minds instantly think of pastels and florals. This collection reminded me that you can achieve the ultimate spring look by keeping things simple by wearing a white, black or both mini dress.
If you’re anything like me, you love having a vibrant color in your black and white ensemble. My two favorite eye-catching details are a red lip and my favorite blue suede shoes. Taylor Swift said it best when she said, “I got that red lip classic thing that you like.” You can never go wrong with the right shade of red. Red lips are as classic as black and white. You’ll look like you stepped out of Vogue when add the lipstick, dress and shoes together.
