Spring fashion is perhaps the most vibrant of all fashion trends. It is the season to experiment with myriad colour palettes and prints, from bright floral patterns to elegant, soft pastels. One of my favourite collections is Anna Molinari’s Blumarine spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. It blends muted shades of blush pink, champagne and violet and combines laser cut, embroidered floral designs. Spring fashion allows the soft rainbow palette to take over your entire look, right down to the accessories. Influenced by the world of art, designers this season have gravitated toward these tranquil and calming shades.
While pale pink and periwinkle blue coats were trending for fall and winter, we are now seeing wide leg pants, light blazers and blouses in these shades, not to mention a variety of warm weather accessories that are also getting the pastel update. If girly isn’t typically your style, try adopting this trend through kitschy-cool prints and palazzo hemlines that feel trendy and edgy.
In this outfit, I paired a black blouse to complement the floral printed, wide leg pants. Although the blouse is neutral, the bell sleeve top is fun and feminine, giving the entire look a ’70s feel. A great way to wear florals is to break up the bold pattern with solid pieces in the same colour palette. If you want to make a bigger statement, double up on pastels and wear a two-piece matching top and bottom and go pastel all over!
