alice + oliva is known for gorgeous designs as well as breathtaking prints and fabrics. The fall 2015 ready-to-wear show did not disappoint! What really caught my eye in this collection were the extravagant coats. If you are a print enthusiast like me, these coats will completely capture your heart. In the wintertime, we find our outfits revolving around our outerwear, especially as college students who spend a majority of their day walking around campus. I found these coats in the alice + olivia collection just the right inspiration to add some much needed spice this time of year.
I decided to try out a look based on this amazing collection. Of course, I needed a great coat with an absolutely stunning print to start with. This one is from Target and is a navy blue with a purple, turquoise and olive green floral print. alice + olivia used a lot of florals in the collection so I thought this coat fit in well. Since the coat is the center of this look, what I am wearing underneath doesn’t really matter as much. Although, you can see these basic black leggings from Zara peaking out. alice + olivia loves over-the-knee or very tall boots so I took my own twist on this boot idea and went for a cowboy boot instead. I felt it brought some spunk into the outfit. To complete the look, I accessorized with my pale pink kate spade bag and an assortment of silver rings.
Some people might shy away from coats with prints thinking that they are either too much or won’t match with everything. I say forget the “rules!” Take some advice from alice + olivia and go a little bit crazy this week with a lavish coat. Who says your coat can’t be the statement piece?
