STYLE GURU STYLE: Style in the Snow

It’s that time of year again when New Englanders have problems with trying to look fashionable while staying warm. From January to March, there’s the most snow and coldest temperatures of the year but with a little help we can all achieve the ultimate snow bunny look. A big part of my style focuses on transitional pieces. I like to have a variety of options in one outfit. Layering outfits makes it possible to go from an outfit that you wear to have lunch with your best friend, to removing some layers and having an outfit for a night on the town.

Growing up in the snow, I have managed to find unique ways to keep me warm and look good. First of all, I am obsessed with faux fur jackets. They keep me as warm as my puffer jacket does but look way more stylish. It is also surprisingly easy to find reasonably priced faux fur jackets considering most Fashionistas are ballin’ on a budget. So, the next time you’re in the store go for that crazy pink fur jacket and you won’t regret it!

During winter, it’s the easiest time to cover crazy, messy, or dirty hair by throwing on a beanie. Not only does the hat provide the convenience of cover, but also provides warmth. I suggest monochromatic colors when selecting hats because it can be paired with anything. I personally own white, black, maroon, and gray. Not only are beanies acceptable to wear outside, but they can be worn inside and still look great.
