Textures, textures and textures! We have been seeing fashion designers and people in the fashion community playing with textures all winter long and it doesn’t stop there. As spring is on the rise, playing with textures is not melting along with the snow. In fact, it was just only the beginning. In Balmain’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear-collection, textures are in full swing. I noticed that the fabric of his choice was suede and it rendered me speechless.
When I saw this collection, it was love at first sight! How could it not be, with all the different ways to play with suede? However, I noticed that in some of the outfits, they were too dramatic to pull off for an everyday look (well, at least for me). Therefore, when recreating my look, I decided to tone it down for a look that could totally be rocked on campus everyday, all day.
I recreated this show by wearing a navy blue button-up suede skirt from Abercrombie & Fitch, along with a textured gray cropped sweater. To add to this look and to keep warm, I wore a tailored jacket and threw on some thermal black over-the-knee high socks. To finish, I wore a pair of chunky heeled black booties. And there you have it, Balmain’s spring ready-to-wear collection channelled into a ready-to-wear everyday look!
There are so many fun and new different ways Fashionistas/os can play with textures for the upcoming spring season. They can either go big or go more subtle, but the possibilities are endless! Fashionistas/os everywhere can suede their way all season long.
