STYLE GURU STYLE: Summer Lovin'

Christian Dior once said: “You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what’s on her feet.”

As the new semester creeps up on us, summer is slowly drawing to an end. As the season ends it is time for us to start saying goodbye to our floral dresses, brightly colored bikinis and strappy sandals. If you are anything like me though, you are desperately trying to cling to the last few weeks of summer.

Luckily, when I saw Jeremy Scott’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, it gave me all the motivation I needed to keep holding on to summer. His collection, filled with hippie-inspired baby-doll dresses, floral prints and funky bright colors, brought me right back to those long summer days.

When putting this outfit together I decided I wanted to do a chic spin on the classic Jeremy Scott look, so I choice a little black dress but with a twist. The dress’s sheer top and 3D appliqués all over the front give it great movement as well as a flirty touch. Staying true to Jeremy Scott’s style, I made the focal point of the outfit an amazing pair of neon color-blocked heels. The bright colors and funky print on this shoe scream summer and give this otherwise basic look a new breathe of life. To keep all the attention on the shoes, I added a pair of delicate dangly gold earrings to finish off the look.

Get My Look: 1. A little black dress. 2. Colorful wedge heels. 3. Dangling gold earrings.
