Fall is always about experimenting, mixing and matching until you get the perfect outfit to brave the cold weather while looking stylish at the same time. With this outfit I wanted to combine a number of my favorite trends, including warm fuzzy sweaters and pleather. Now, of course sweaters are an essential part of your fall collection, but no Fashionista’s wardrobe is complete without a little pleather.
Pleather is being worn by almost every girl on my college campus from skirts to tights: it’s definitely a trend that is here to stay. Pairing oversized sweaters with pleather adds just the right amount of sass and sleekness to this look. The color scheme in this look is completely inspired from the ’70s. For this outfit I chose to pair a bold pink peacoat with a muted dark green knit sweater to provide the perfect contrast between fun and sophisticated. The oversized jacket and sweater give off just the right amount of ’70s flare while the sleek pleather skirt makes the look more modern with just a twinge of vintage. To finish the look off I added a pair of simple black stockings and a pair of nude colored suede booties. The booties are stylish yet comfortable enough to storm the campus in to escape the cold weather.
My accessories include a white gold heart-shaped necklace with sparkly gold studs; nothing too heavy to distract from the overall look. Combining all these different trends allowed me to showcase the versatility of my style, as well as my own personality. Creating your own look is so important as a Fashionista, as you always want to stand out and be true to yourself.
