kate spade’s fall 2014 and spring 2015 ready-to-wear lines are to die for. Detailed with kate spade’s signature funky patterns and vibrant colors, every piece is spunky and unique. Although the ensembles are bold and even a little outlandish, they manage to tie together nicely and complement each other well. The lines feature a vast array of dresses, blouses, skirts, coats and pants to mix and match for any occasion. I have always shied away from vivid colors and have generally opted to stick to dark, monochromatic outfits. Still, kate spade’s lines left quite the impression on me, so I decided to incorporate aspects of her pieces into my own attire.
One of my favorite trends in kate spade’s lines were the recurring polka-dots and bows. I decided to incorporate these details into my outfit by pairing a gray cardigan covered with black bows over a simple black dress. Although I went for darker colors, the bows added a feminine, flirty touch to the otherwise grungy outfit. I added a shiny bow belt and black bow earrings to tie the piece together. The accessories added flare without being gaudy. My favorite part of the ensemble was the signature black polka-dot kate spade tights which added spunk to the outfit. The final touch was a hint of color with a deep red lipstick. I was able to create a look that stayed true to my personal style, while incorporating elements of kate spade’s lines.
