It’s November, already. With the semester flying by, it’s easy to continuously look forward. We plan for next semester, we plan for time abroad and at the same time, we are all too excited about the upcoming holiday season. But, just for a second, let’s slow down and focus on fall.
For one, the weather is gorgeous. Yes, it can be a little chilly in the morning for those 8 a.m. classes, but by midday it is perfect outside and I’m excited to throw on something a bit more dressed up than a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt. Though, I still like to keep my outfits simple. That’s undeniable. I live in basic denim and white T-shirts, especially to dress for class. It’s the uniform that is always in style.
With my black Topshop jeans that have a single slit through each knee and a simple white T-shirt as a base for this outfit, I then add a denim jacket to layer overtop. It’s not overly complicated, but it fits my style. To add a little something extra, I also wear a black beaded choker with a single charm designed and created by one of Marist’s students, Sarah Vermillion. To finish off the outfit, I throw on a pair of black ankle boots and grab my tote bag that comes with me to every class, filled with everything I need and plenty of things I don’t.
With fall semester classes winding down, remember to take a second to breathe. Admire fall for the season that it is, take notice of the gorgeous weather and remember that it’s okay to take those few extra minutes for yourself to get a little bit dressed up.
